Still one of Hollywood's "best-kept secrets"...

Hello, I'm Christopher Darryn, the founder and president of The Research Department. I can tell you that the publicity I received from this L.A. Times story was fun and following a KABC radio talk show interview we were suddenly deluged with calls and letters from people who wanted to share their stories with a TV audience. As the letters piled up, I needed to organize everything in a way that would allow me to provide our many talk show and reality show clients with a potential guest at a moments notice. The result was The National Talk Show Guest Registry(tm) which we debuted in 1993, it became the first clearinghouse in the world for "regular people" who wanted to share their personal stories on TV. Naturally, it didn't take long for the media to embrace the idea and the service made headlines from Hollywood to Australia. I even ended up appearing on a few television and radio talk shows along the way myself.
